LIBRARY

SVDD Primary School library is well endowed with spacious reading area and impressive interiors to make the reading experience enticing. It has a collection of wonderful and exciting books suited to the needs and tastes of growing children.

With more than 3000 books accessible to the children throughout the day, our library ensures that they receive necessary assistance. It is a rich treasure trove of encyclopedias, story books, books on parenting, Comics, jokes, phonics, mythology, puzzles, Biography etc. Apart from books, our library provides CDs, Kids explorer, junior explorer, monthly magazines, and games too. Other than these, there are reference materials, journals, teaching aids etc, thus making it adequate to please the appetite of reading of all ages.

With the aim of inculcating a lifelong passion for books and knowledge, we encourage all students to make the most of their library sessions.

We at SVDD are proud to possess a magnificent and sophisticated, state of the art library stocked with the best of books. It will only take a glance to be mesmerized to view its interiors and it is truly a sight to remember.

ART-ROOMS

An art-room provides a secure, comfortable environment in which the children are regularly encouraged to reflect and as a result, able to get to know themselves. This in turn develops their esteem and sense of self worth and provides opportunities to develop the way they express and manage their emotions. It also gives them a chance to explore and improve their social interactions in a structured yet calm, relaxed setting.

With the purpose of allowing children the opportunity to focus on what they ‘can do’ and to celebrate individual and collective successes, we have two art-rooms.

COMPUTER LAB

In this age of Computer Technology, an early exposure to the basics of computer, prepares the student for the future and helps them to overcome inhibitions towards computer usage.

To attain digital literacy, SVDD Primary School has a computer laboratory with the latest equipment and technology.

Our computer laboratory has 30 computer systems upgraded with appropriate software to enable students of STD 1st to 4th to use the system independently. In addition to that, Internet connectivity is also provided.

SPORTS

It is rightly said that ‘a sound mind dwells only in a sound body’. Academics and sports complement each other. They resemble the two sides of the same coin. With this view in mind, We, at SVDD, train our students for a variety of sports like basketball, volleyball, rope-malkhamb, skating and taekwondo by experienced coaches.

To introduce technology into our classroom sessions, we have eSense learning. It presents advanced digital tools that redefine the teacher-student interaction and promote a unique & stimulating environment of quality knowledge exchange in the classroom.

NURTURING INTELLECT AND ASPIRATIONS

Intellectuals are not just born. They need to be sensed, tapped and explored. An institution is that temple of learning where the aspiring professionals and intellectuals are nurtured. Just as, the beauty of a piece of sculpture depends on the skill and imagination of the sculptor, the molding of the personality of the students depends on the parents and the teachers.

At SVDD we instill in them the thirst for knowledge, interest in fine arts, performing arts, sports, etc. The goal of the student’s life is molded under the guidance and inspiration of our competent and dedicated teachers. The aspiration or the talent of every student is well spotted by our teachers and the students are encouraged to achieve their goal. The students are trained and encouraged to participate in different in-house and interschool school competitions wherein they come up with prestigious positions. Our most esteemed achievement is the marvellous performance of our students in the scholarship exam conducted by the State Government of Maharashtra. Special coaching is also given to the students who have enrolled for scholarship. Every year we have commendable number of students in the merit list.

COUNSELLING

We, at SVDD, know that a counsellor provides appropriate psychological services to the students that address educational, social, emotional and behavioural needs. Hence, we have a qualified counsellor who provides personal counselling for referred students. The counsellor in our school is not only the counsellor but is also involved in various activities of the school. She serves as a bridge between the parents and teachers, thereby helping in the development, for a positive change in the student.

MEDICAL CHECKUP

Health is one of the most important aspects of an individual’s meaningful existence. This domain of child development is also valued at SVDD. We conduct annual medical check-ups (inclusive of vision, dental, hearing, obesity and physical examination) at our school premises. The detailed report of the same is provided to the parents in a systematic format. We maintain the health records of the students in an electronic form to ensure their health progress.

PARENT INTERACTION

We encourage harmonious interaction in thinking and approach between the caretakers at home and in school. Workshops, open parent interactive sessions and one-on-one parent teacher meetings provide ample scope for the respective caretakers to bring their best efforts forward for the development of the child. The overall purpose is to enable positive collaborative efforts to build on the child’s strengths. The school welcomes constructive suggestions and ideas from all parents to make their children’s development more meaningful and real.

CANTEEN

When eating is social, serving children with a variety and nutritious food every day is a trying situation for parents at home. But this problem has been taken care of by the school. SDDRST has provided with a spacious common canteen for all the sections of its institution.

Canteen ambience plays a pivotal role in the intellectual and physical development of students. SDDRST Canteen is a large area with a variety of refreshment served as per students’ taste. Food is served and cooked in the most hygienic conditions. It is the most popular place where students bond over food during their recess time.
